Es cendol (Sundanese) / es dawet (Javanese) — a cold dessert drink of green rice-flour "worms" (cendol — small, soft, jelly-like strands coloured green with pandan or suji leaf), coconut milk, palm sugar syrup, and shaved ice. The "worms" are made by pressing a pandan-coloured rice flour batter through a perforated mould directly into ice water, where they set into short, squiggly strands.
